Deon Knobel 082 465 34 29 / 021 4233 661 ![]() FLORRIE WENT MISSING On 15 March I left for four days to visit friends in Arniston/Waenhuiskrans, and left the four of them in the care of Rachel and am elderly tenant, Ann. I phoned every day to find out whether everything was O.K at home, as was my habit when away without the animals. On Monday the 19th of March I phoned again only to be told by Rachel that she last saw Florrie at lunch time on Sunday the 18th. And that there was a fierce South Easter storm in the afternoon which may have frightened Florrie. I had to fulfil some obligations as guest at the dinner table that evening and left at 23.00 to come home and start looking for Florrie. One hoped that she was hiding somewhere but she was nowhere. THE BIG DETECTIVE MYSTERY - HOW DID SHE GET OUT AND WENT MISSING: As explained she did manage to get out when she wanted to join me at the guinea fowls on the parking lot - where the motor taxis for the Cable Car park to wait for clients. I believe that on that fateful Sunday Afternoon with the South Easter storm, she must have heard somebody that sounded like me at the parking lot where the Guinea fowl would collect at feeding time, screeching for their grain. I believe that she was then picked up by somebody and taken away. Most of the taxi drivers who were approached remembered that the dogs came with me to feed the Guinea Fowl, and were given posters to take home and distribute in their areas.
