Animal Rescue will be hosting its first “Bumper Spay Days” on 13 – 15 March 2007 at the ARO Hospital in Ottery.

The purpose is to bring in about 20 dogs or cats per day for sterilization. Animals are collected from township and informal settlement communities and this will be assisted by PUPP, (Project for the Upliftment of Pets and People) and ARO’s fieldstaff who work in numerous township and informal settlement communities around the Cape.

Spayathons are huge amounts of work involving a lot of driving, collection of animals, prep and care of animals prior to and after operations and much more. All the financial support possible is needed to provide for the additional veterinary staff, assisting staff, drugs and related costs.
