Abandoned Gets A Fresh New Look and Some Updates

abandoned_post_header

Welcome to the new look Abandoned. We’ve been a little quiet for a while but we’re back with a bang with a fresh new look and some exciting new content.

We’ve added a new section to the site which contains a large list of Veterinary Hospitals, Clinics and Vet Shops. We’re still busy growing the section so bare with us please.

We also now have our very own Forum. Thanks go to SystemShock who have hosted a forum for us for the past couple of years. We’re hoping that with your help we can grow it to be a SA’s leading pet lovers community.

We’ve done our best to update a lot of our information that was out of date. If you come across information that isn’t correct please let us know and we’ll make the appropriate changes.

Lastly, please don’t forget that if you’re an organization and you would like to be listed with us that there’s no cost involved. We would love to welcome you to our family.

Thanks,
The Abandoned Team

CLAW

We are pleased to announce that the Community Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) situated in the Gauteng province has joined our little family.

We hope to be able to assist them as much as they have assisted the animals in their area.

Friends of the Cat

We are happy to welcome Friends of the Cat to our resource centre. They are located in the Gauteng province. Looking for a cat? Visit their page or go directly to their site to find yourself a new friend.

FORA

We are happy to announce that FORA – Friends Of Rescued Animals have joined our site. You will find them under Gauteng. Soon we will load all their animals and hope that you will visit regularly to see if you can’t home one of the many they have waiting there.

Kitty & Puppy Haven

We are happy to announce that Kitty & Puppy Haven have joined our resource center. You will be able to find them under the Gauteng listing. As usual please do visit their site regularly and even better go spend some time with the animals in their care. There is nothing quite as healing as a kind and caring touch.

While you ponder about visiting them, please see if you have any old towels or blankets to take with. Winter is coming and all the shelters could really do with having more. Try to take some tinned food along too. As you can imagine there are tons of hungry tummies behind those loving little faces.

Site Updates

What a busy year this has been and as we all know it is far from over.

We have updated T.E.A.R.S. , D.A.R.G. , H.A.W.S. and we are happy to report that Wet Nose has started uploading their precious pets up for adoption. Do head on over and see if your new best friend isn’t just a click away.

Animal Welfare in Port Elizabeth are in need of more volunteers as they are very understaffed and really need the help. They have been so busy that they really have not had the time to send us any updates for a while. Perhaps you or a friend could assist them by sending us the much needed updates on a regular basis? If you feel up to it, then please do send us an email.

D.A.R.G.

We are so happy to announce that D.A.R.G. – Domestic Animal Rescue Group in Hout Bay have finally been able to join our site. You will find them under our Western Cape section and don’t forget to visit their official site here. You won’t be dissapointed!

New Additions

We are proud to say that TEARS and Adopt A Pet have joined our ever growing resource centre. For those of you who are unsure of where they are located, you can find them under the Western Cape Section.

We will in due course add all the wonderful animals they have up for adoption so keep checking in to see whats new.

Site News

We would like to welcome Animal Ambulance to our site. You can find them under the Gauteng section.

Guys please go have a look and see if you can’t help home one of the animals they have up for adoption. They work really hard and any assistance will be appreciated.

Also we will be working closely with The Animal Trust, who focus on organisations in the Cape Town area. Head on over there and see if you can assist in any way.
